I wish to nominate my friend, Jean Wilson, as the ninth inductee into the Green Bay Packer Fan Hall of Fame. In all my years of attending Packer games and being a Packer fan myself, I have never known anyone as devoted and loyal to the Green and Gold as Jean. Everyone who knows and loves her thinks of one thing when they think of her: The Packers. In fact, it is difficult to put into words just how much of a fan she is.

The first thing that should be noted is that Jean wears Packer attire every single day. This is not an exaggeration. When my husband and I go married in Green Bay in 2004, we joked about what Jean might wear to the wedding. We'd never seen her out of her Packer gear. At the actual wedding mass she did wear a dress. But, as you can see by the enclosed pictures, she still had to show her devotion at the reception.

Secondly, Jean has more Packer items than I can begin to count. Her collection is so extensive that she has turned her home into a Packer shrine. However, I don't believe being a fan is about how much one can accumulate. What is so great about Jean is her generosity in sharing these items. We have been the benefactors of Packer clothing, hats, cookbooks, watches, sketches and neon signs, just to name a few. But when my son was born this past year, Jean made sure that he had Packer clothing for every season and size of the first two years of his life. Every time we see her she is happy to share with us more Packer items.

Several years ago, Jean went to a Brett Favre autograph signing at Van Vreedes' TV and Appliance. It wasn't enough for her to get an autograph and a picture with Brett (which she carries around in her purse) she had to purchase the actual table that Brett sat at to sign the autographs and it is now located in her home.

In addition to the above-mentioned, Jean attends every Packer shareholder event. She does not attend many games due to bad knees now that she's in the twilight of her life, but watches them on TV every week and attends many of the practices during training camp. She also spends countless hours on the Internet, researching every Packer player, the teamÕs opponent that week, coaches, etc. She is always well informed and up-to-date on the latest news from Green Bay.

Her Packer license plates, email address and brick in the Lambeau Field Atrium all display her own Packer acronym: GBPB - Green Bay Packer Backer, and that she truly is. Jean is completely devoted to the Green Bay Packers in every sense of the word. She is a true fan, through thick and thin, and show her Packer spirit every day of the year. This is why Jean Wilson should be the ninth inductee to the Green Bay Packer Fan Hall of Fame.
